Jessica Kondrath | the movement

Jessica Kondrath | the movement was formed under the name Jessica Kondrath | luxdance in 2005 in New York City.  Between 2005 and 2009, the company presented concerts throughout the New York City area at venues such as Triskelion Arts, The Merce Cunningham Studios, and at Baryshnikov Arts Center. The company has also participated as part of HATCH at The Jennifer Muller Studio and The D.U.M.B.O. Dance Festival.  Beginning in 2010, the company reformed in Long Beach, CA as Jessica Kondrath | the movement and has since shown work at MixMatch Dance Festival in Santa Monica, at A Room to Create (ARC) in Pasadena both within group performances as well as part of ArtNight Pasadena, and at the inaugural performance of Salon Night presented by the Long Beach Dance Foundation.  The company has recently performed as part of the Choreographer’s Showcase at Dance Mission Theater in San Francisco, Fullerton Union High School, ADaPT Fest in Santa Barbara, as part of Gowanus Guest Room #8 at Spoke the Hub in Brooklyn, NY, Nancy Evans Dance Theater Family/Friends/Dance/Festival, Moorpark College, and Dance Chicago.

The mission of Jessica Kondrath | the movement is to explore the intimate connection between movement and the musical score.  It is my choreographic interest to craft a visual re-presentation of the score so that the audience may experience the music visually as well as aurally.
