Helios Dance Theater

Helios Dance Theater was founded in 1996 by Artistic Director and choreographer Laura Gorenstein Miller. Miller creates work in the contemporary modern genre with an emphasis on improvisation in the creation process. Helios’ work has premeired as UCLA’s Royce Hall and Schoenberg Hall, REDCAT, The Getty Center, California Institute of the Arts, UCS’s Bovard Auditorium, The Joyce Theater and Lincoln Center in New York, The Royal Opera House in London, the Mid Ocean Ampitheater in Southhampton, Bermuda, and Teatro National de Costa Rica in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Mission Statement:

Helios Dance Theater is strongly committed to being a vibrant part of the arts, contributing through performances of its original work, dance educational outreach into schools, and collaborations with acclaimed artists. Helios envisions being a perpetual and vital hub for dance art in Los Angeles with a national and international presence.
