California Contemporary Ballet

California Contemporary Ballet (CCBallet), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit company, was established in 1997 by choreographer and Artistic Director Aerin Holt. The company presents work in a blended style of classical, contemporary, and theatrical dance. CCBallet has appeared in Celebrate Dance Festival as well as abroad at the Janacek Conservatory in the Czech Republic. Since 1997, the company has presented its signature holiday classic The Snow Queen in Glendale as an alternative to prevalent Nutcracker productions. A large scale production, The Snow Queen incorporates members of the California Contemporary Youth Ballet and community in its cast of 60-70 dancers. In 2009, CCBallet was nominated fora Lester Horton Award for Outstanding Achievement in Performance.
