Natalie Clare

Natalie Clare (September 3, 1919- April, 2007) was a principal dancer with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. She founded Ballet La Jeunesse, a Southland trainee company, in 1958 and continued to direct and choreograph for the company into the 1980’s. She studied under Bronislava Nijinska and made her professional debut in 1940 at the Hollywood Bowl.

Natalia published an autobiography in 2004 titled Behind the Tutu.
