Craig Kupka was lead trombonist for the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He was dance accompanist at California State University, Los Angeles and then was hired by Don Bondi ( dance chair) to be the music director for the inauguration of the nascent dance department at the Los Angeles County HIgh School for the Arts where he also composed several original compositions for dance. He later became the music director at Glendale High School.
