Bill Couser

Bill Couser (1931- March, 1988) was a dancer and choreographer. In the 1970’s he founded Jazz Dance Center, a company which used African, jazz, and folk dance techniques and often commented on the black condition. He earned his master’s degree in Communication from California State University, Los Angeles and served on the Artistic Selection Committee for the California Arts Council. Couser taught at California State University Fullerton and Inner-City Cultural Center.
