Festival Ballet Theatre

Festival Ballet Theatre was founded in 1988 by Artistic Director Salwa Rizkalla. FBT’s repertoire includes full-length classical ballets including The Nutcracker, Coppélia, Don Quixote, Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake as well as contemporary ballets. The company produces about 4 concerts a year and presents them at the Barclay Theatre at UC Irvine. Their productions often feature guest performers from high profile companies such as American Ballet Theatre, Boston Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Kirov Ballet, New York City Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, San Francisco Ballet and Scottish Ballet. After the fold of Ballet Pacifica in 2007, FBT bid on and won the late company’s names, sets, costumes, and photography archive at Ballet Pacifica’s Assests Auction.
